Celestina Tiew – FHM Singapore GND 2009
It was a pleasure shooting Celestina, she took the effort to come to Kuala Lumpur just for the shoot and it came out amazing.
She took a bus from Singapore and arrive in Malaysia almost midnight and we continue for the shoot til the wee hours in the morning.
It was a great collaboration and working with make up artist Kenny Yee from Makeup Miracle. We’re now good friends and will be working together more often in the future. I highly recommend his work. It is of high quality and you can really see the differences that his makeup from other amateurs.
The time when I shot Celestina, she is still in the finals for Singapore’s FHM Girl Next Door and 2 weeks after that, she won. Which makes it even more amazing. Since the photoshoot, I have been getting tons of calls from models from Singapore wanting to work on a collaboration and even from Miss Singapore 2006.
The theme of the day is Black and White, we decided that even before that with Kenny as during that period, I am really inspired to shoot in monochrome. But I did it in RAW format so I could pull out some colors whenever I want to. I also learn from Kenny (during a pre-wedding shoot) that there is such thing as B&W makeup. Why waste the makeup color such as Blue, Green and etc when you don’t need them colors. Working on the tone of the skin and highlighting and shaping the model is more critical.
