Daniel Tan – Look into my eyes

One piece of advice to all the models out there which I have picked up from Daniel is that the eye of a model must always tell a story.  People must be able to see your message in your eyes, you must feel the character you play if you are to stand out. Modelling is not a game of pretend, but becoming and believing.

For photographers, it is good to spend some time to know your models before a photoshoot. Understand them, their passion, their occupation and hobbies. It will help you with the poses. Lets say you found out one of your model enjoys yoga or a dancer, that will indeed help you as you will immediately get some idea. Once, I found out my model is a ballerina. I got her to flex and twist and twirl and all that comes naturally, so does good photos. For some personal reason, I did not process or post any of her photos. It is because she damaged some studio equipments and did not take ownership to the incident.

Here are some of my photos featured on CloveTwo – TheStar newspaper
